Description
Description TextDate updated7120/12-2 (Alke Sør) is a discovery in the southern Barents Sea, 54 kilometres south of the Snøhvit field and 55 kilometres west of the Goliat field. The water depth is 160 metres. The discovery was proven in 1981. The reservoirs contain gas and condensate in sandstone of Late Triassic and Jurassic age in the Snadd and Stø Formations, at a depth of 1900 metres. Processing capacity for third-party use at the onshore facility at Melkøya will most likely not be available before around 2040. Alternative development scenarios, including gas transport options from the Barents Sea, are therefore being considered.19.02.2021 -
